Telephone Troubleshooting

 

 

No Dial Tone:

 

1. Have you recently connected any new devices to a phone jack?

Yes

No

 

2. Disconnect new device and re-check for dial tone.

Is there a dial tone now?

Yes

No

 

3. Disconnect all devices from the telephone wall jacks and check for dial tone using a phone you know to be good. (Preferably not a cordless if possible.)

Is there a dial tone now?

Yes

No

 

4. Plug in the remaining devices 1 at a time while checking dial tone on the known good phone. Continue this procedure until you lose dial tone, thus identifying the bad device.

 

5. Take the known good phone (not cordless) outside the house to the box with the Entouch logo. Open the customer side of the box with a screwdriver and check for a dial tone in both telephone outlet ports.

If you are uncomfortable with this, please proceed to step 6.

Is there a dial tone at the box?

(Good dial tone at protector.)

No

 

6. Has there been any digging in your back yard?

Yes- please call (281) 225-1000 to schedule a trouble call for possible cut drop.

No- please call (281) 225-1000 to schedule a call for no dial tone at protector.
